BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales, 1650/49 O, very rare, with crowned-•F• (two dots) countermark on shield, ex-Capitana, ex-Ponte, Mastalir Plate. S-P35; KM-unl (19b for type); Cal-unl (Type 327). 26.81 grams. Choice, uncorroded VF example with nearly full legends including bold full date (overdate certain) outside of full cross, nice full shield with about half of countermark in center, full PHILIPVS IIII in legend, P-O left and 8-O right, a few old marks, golden toning all over and dark in crevices for good contrast. From the Capitana (1654), pedigreed to the Ponterio "Capitana" auction of April 1999 (lot 187), Sedwick Auction 19 (lot 428), and the Luis R.
