BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales, 1649 Z, with crowned-L countermark on cross, ex-Ponte, Mastalir Plate. S-P34; KM-19a; Cal-1485. 26.09 grams. Lightly toned AVF with several flat spots but minimal surface corrosion (probably from the Maravillas shipwreck of 1656), bold full P-Z and denomination •8•, full 9 of date, nice but off-center cross (flan extends past outer border) with most of countermark covering the bottom-right quadrant. Pedigreed to the Luis R.
