BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales, 1649 O, with crowned-A countermark on shield (very rare), ex-Capitana, ex-Ponte, Mastalir Plate. S-P35; KM-19b; Cal-1487. 24.21 grams. Very bold countermark (Mastalir says only seven recorded and only two as singletons) in center of full but weak shield that is somewhat concave (and with crack in edge) as a result, with bold crown above and flanked by full •P•O• and •8•, faint but certain date outside of weak cross, lightly toned AVG overall with surface pitting.
