BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales, 1632 T, cross-fleury ornaments, very rare. S-P26; KM-19a; Cal-1457. 27.01 grams. Clear •P+T• and +8+ flanking well-detailed shield (the +'s being crosses fleury), slightly doubled full cross with fairly clear 32 of date, non-toned XF+ with edge split. Paoletti (who calls the cross fleury "St Andrews cross" in error) shows an example of this 1632 issue as number 189 but does not mention the ornaments because they are not visible on his coin, and for a long time researchers believed this special ornament was only known on issues of 1630 and 1631, whereas the present coin proves that the crosses fleury lasted a year longer, perhaps only in the form of the marriage of a new 1632 reverse with an obverse from 1631 (as the erstwhile cross fleury after the date is not visible on this coin).
