BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 4 reales, Philip IV, assayer not visible, "flat" lions. KM-17a; Cal-Type 279. 12.50 grams. Thick, oval flan with sharp but slightly doubled shield, bold but slightly off-center cross with bold (AN)O 16 in legend, two small edge splits but minimal corrosion, nicely toned. With original certificate from Captain Tracy Bowden through his contract with the Dominican Republic. Recovered from: Concepción, sunk in 1641 off Hispaniola
