BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 2 reales, 1622 P/T, quadrants of cross transposed, very rare, ex-Christensen (plate). S-P22; KM-unl (14 for type); Cal-unl (Type 239). 5.18 grams. Broad flan with bold full shield and cross despite corrosion, darkly toned, the assayer full and fairly clear and the date also full due to an off-center strike, first example we have seen of this date and over-assayer (cataloged as "recut P" by Christensen), with desirable pedigree. Pedigreed to the original Christensen "Conception" auction of May 1982, lot 175 (plated in the catalog), with original lot-tag (cut down) and salvors' tag 327. Recovered from: Concepción, sunk in 1641 off Hispaniola
