BOLIVIA, Potosí, 10 soles monetary medal, 1825, Simón Bolívar / Chuquisaca, NGC MS 64. Fonrobert-9741 var; Burnett-6B. 31 grams. Richly rainbow toned over lustrous surfaces, with an area of surface roughness (as made) below CHUQUISACA but otherwise choice and desirable as one of the most popular medals struck to commemorate the liberation of Upper Peru (modern-day Bolivia) in 1825. Note: The label states "var" in reference to two varieties identified by Burnett based on their edges, but of course the edge on this example is not visible inside the slab.
