Austin, Republic of Texas, $25 Naval Appropriation Warrant, April 23rd, 1841, serial 528, payable to Alex Collins (Gunner), PCGS Banknote AU 55. Criswell-AW3A; Medlar-43. Payment appropriation certificate made out to Alex Collins, a gunner in the Texas Navy (further research could identify what ship he served on), when Texas was its own independent nation. Signed by the Republic of Texas Comptroller Samuel B Shank and Treasurer James Wright Simmons with cross cut cancellations over their signatures. Choice original paper quality and with strong inked signatures.
