ARGENTINA, bronze medal, 1813 (1913), coinage centenary, NGC MS 65 RD, finest known in NGC census. 39 mm. Bright red copper medal struck to commemorate Argentina's first coinage, the finest and only example with Red designation in the NGC census. Obverse: sunface at center with CENTENARIO 1913 between rays, PROVINCIAS DEL RIO DE LA PLATA around it and florette at bottom; reverse with clasped hands under liberty pole wrapped in laurel with 8 R flanking, date 1813 below and EN UNION Y LIBERTAD, Potosí mintmark and assayer J around; ornamented edge.
