ANCIENT GREEK, Ionia, Magnesia ad Maeandrum, AR tetradrachm, Euphemos, son of Pausanias, "magistrate," ca. mid-2nd century BC, stephanophoric type, NGC AU / strike 5/5, surface 4/5. BMC 36; SNG Berry 1068. 16.84 grams. Diademed and draped bust of Artemis, right, bow and quiver over shoulder / Apollo, nude, standing left, leaning on tripod; laurel branches in right hand; all within laurel wreath. Struck on a large flan, slightly off center, crisp details and medallic alignment. Pedigreed to the Geoffrey & Bequet (Royan, France) auction of December 2007 (lot 45).
