1700 hardbound book in Dutch by Kornelis van Alkemade entitled De Munt der Graaven van Holland, very rare and important to numismatists. 8-1/4" x 12-3/4"; 200 pages. Printed in Delft by Andriez Voorstad, this is a banker's guide to circulating coinage, an immensely useful reference for showing what coins circulated in Europe at the time, but particularly important to Spanish colonial numismatists for showing the famous ten reales of Santo Domingo (a coin whose legitimacy was questioned in the 1970s), in fact one of the first books to do so (the first was in 1576), in excellent condition except for spine, with lots of plates of coins and an especially nice engraving in the front, old ex-libris from 1819 in front and modern stamps.
