1573 half-leather-on-board (rebound) book in Latin entitled De Titvlis Philippi Avstrii Regis Catholici Liber, by Iacobi Mainoldi Gallerati Cremonensis. 5-1/2" x 7-1/2"; approx. 125 pages. Printed in Italy in an elegant italic type with various engravings of family shields, this is an outline of the titleture and lineage of Philip II of Spain, bound with a 22-page chronological history of the New World with descriptions of Columbus' voyages and an account of events up to the 1540s, all in excellent condition save for bottoms of some pages intentionally cut off before binding, with lengthy 1992 calligraphic inscription by previous owner and very old ex-libris.
