Costa Rica (State), 1/2 real, radiate-star-in-circle countermark (Type I, 1841-2), holed with plug removed per the issue, on a Mexico bust 1/2 real 1793FM, very rare, ex-Richard Stuart. KM-1. 1.42 grams. Fine countermark on VG/Fair host, the countermark (Carrillo star) on the obverse next to a smaller plug-removal hole with customary test mark in U of CAROLUS, one of very few of this denomination in existence, missing in many important Costa Rican collections. Pedigreed to the Richard Stuart collection.
