Small "tumbaga" silver bar ("half-brick" shape) #M-42, 2489 grams, stamped with assayer B~Vo, serial number RCXXX and fineness 9CCCLXXX (880/2400 fine) plus partial tax stamp, from the "Tumbaga wreck" (ca. 1528). 7-1/4" x 3-1/4" x 3/4". Very neatly rectangular, with full markings next to a curious, round "knob" (partially melted object?) on that side, sharply diagonal assayer's "bite" in one corner, lightly toned and relatively uncorroded.
