Potosi, Bolivia, cob 8 reales, 1652E transitional Type IV, from the Capitana (1654). S-P37; KM-A20.4; CT-432. 25.99 grams. Broad, solid flan with minimal corrosion and bold full inner details, particularly the shield and the F and IIII at top of pillars, most of date in legend, nicely toned VF. One of only three known of this die variety, according to Mastalir. Pedigreed to the Roberto Mastalir collection, #IV.1-A.bb2(1)2 in his book (page 99), from the Capitana (1654), with Herman Moro certificate.
