Potosi, Bolivia, cob 8 reales, (1)64(6?), assayer T/V, with unidentified countermark on cross, rare. S-P30; KM-19a. 23.23 grams. Crude (doubled) full shield with bold assayer T showing traces of V underneath, full but weak cross with clear partial countermark in center, full but crude middle digits of date (small, attributable to 1646), important as one of very few examples known with countermark on a pre-assayer Z issue, also clearly debased with copper color visible, patchy light toning, minimal corrosion. From the Maravillas Research Collection of Countermarked Potosi Cobs, with Marex certificate and tag #0433. Recovered from: Maravillas, sunk in 1656 off Grand Bahama Island
