Mexico City, Mexico, cob 8 escudos, (1714J), "date over GRAT variety" dies, from the 1715 Fleet. S-M30; KM-57.2; CT-107. 26.88 grams. Superb full shield and crown and denomination VIII/IIIV (characteristic of the GRAT obverse die), the cross choice and full too with new fleurs in quadrants (hence the variety with date replaced over GRAT on obverse die), peripheries flat, Mint State. From the 1715 Fleet and pedigreed to the David Horner collection.
